چکیده

Chromite ore processing tailing, a solid waste generated during the of chromite ore, is difficult to recover due its ultra-fine size. The tailings from process contains valuable and iron-bearing minerals, loss which matter concern for ferrochrome industry worldwide. Tailings plant mainly dumped, causing space environmental concerns. Researchers worldwide have carried out rigorous study on recovery tailings, considering low quantity Cr(T) Fe(T) in ore. These processes are partially successful further assimilation form tailings. In present study, beneficiary India were investigated through pyro-metallurgical route. initial characterization confirmed presence nickel (0.5–0.9% Ni) led interest smelting obtain metal. behaviour studied under submerged arc furnace blast condition, varying basicity. A cost economic analysis evaluated understand feasibility real-time operation. investigation has revealed that such could result metal product with 79.23% Fe(T), 12.94% chromium 1.11% >94%. produced slag enriched higher amorphous phase glassy >89%. suggested cleaner sustainable approach towards valorisation mining realization concept circular economy. It concluded carbothermal enrichment can be valorized route at optimum basicity 1 by promoting zero discharge.

Chromite ore processing residue in Hudson County, New Jersey.

Chromite ore processing residue occurs at over 130 sites in Hudson County, New Jersey. Many of these sites are in urban residential areas. This waste is a result of 70 years of chromate and bichromate chemical manufacturing. At least 15% of the sites contain total chromium concentrations greater than 10,000 mg/kg, with hexavalent content ranging from about 1 to 50%. Continuing leaching of this ...

Low-Temperature Carbothermic Reduction of Indonesia Nickel Lateritic Ore with Sub-Bituminous Coal

In this work, the experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of temperature and sub-bituminous coal on upgrading nickel laterites ores by carbothermic reduction. The reduction was carried out in the muffle furnace at a temperature ranging of 800-1100 o C. The produced calcine from reduction step was grounded in vibrating mill, mixed with water and passed on a magnetic separator to separ...

Reprocessing of Sangan iron ore tailings by flotation

The Sangan processing plant consists of four consecutive low-intensity magnetic separation steps with the same magnetic field intensity of 1300 Gauss for upgradation of iron ore. Hence, the iron ore minerals with lower magnetic susceptibility or interlocked with gangue minerals have no opportunity for upgradation, and proceed to the tailing dam. Flotation is a powerful technique for upgradation...

The Smelting of Manganese Carbonate Ore

The practice of manganese ferroalloy smelting has traditionally been based on utilising oxide ores which typically contain a high level of manganese. This preference for oxides has even been extended to the modification of natural carbonates into nodulized oxides. However smelting practices developed over the past 30 years have created a market for natural manganese carbonate ores, driven in pa...

Microwaves Applied to Carbothermic Reduction of Iron Ore Pellets

Results of reducibility tests of reduction conducted on iron ore pellets with carbon are presented in this work. Work done is centered on reduction kinetics using carbon as reducing agent with conventional heat supply (heat transfer process) compared with reduction kinetics where heat is supplied by microwaves to the whole volume. Ore used in this work is called "Alzada" which has reducibility ...
